In this verse, our Lord Jesus Christ equates the Comforter with Himself. “another Comforter.” Not greater or lessor, another like Himself. The Holy Spirit is not the maleable “force” from Star Wars.  He cannot be manipulated for good or evil. The Holy Spirit is not a “spirit child of the Father” as Mormons believe, nor a created entity such as  Jehovah’s Witnesses teach. And of course, Islam doctrine states that the Holy Spirit to be the archangel Michael! 

All of these world religions are quenching the Holy Spirit, which speaks to all men. When we quench something that is burning, we douse it with water. When the Holy Spirit burns within mankind, it is up to us to heed it or quench that fire.
