As this blog gains readership, please bear with me as I explain its past.

Around 20 years ago, I made the aquaintance of a retired, Baptist pastor.  He was verbose and loved to write, so we decided to start a WordPress blog.  It was hugely successful, and our readership reached over 10,000 subscribers. It was nice for me, because he could publish when I was too busy to write.

Then, Trump announced he was running for President. My sensible writing partner got full blown, Trump Derangement Syndrome. If anyone reading this does not think it is a real thing, let me assure you, it is. He, quite literally, LOST HIS MIND!

I tried reasoning with him, restating the purpose of our blog. I invited him over for lunch, and we agreed to stay on mission, and avoid politics. It went on for about a month, when one night, around 10 pm., I checked the blog, and it was gone. All my years of work, deleted. He had done that in an effort to start another blog where he could turn purple with outrage, and rant about Trump and his family.

I was upset to say the least. He died less than a year later. I forgave him, but we did not make amends. Then, out of the blue, a couple of years ago, my lovely daughter found some of the old stuff I wrote. She, all on her own, restored The Vine Vigil to the best of her considerable ability.

So, many of my articles are still missing. But I thank our merciful Saviour for leading our precious daughter to restore what has been restored. I hope, in the near future, to start writing again, especially the Friday Proverbs, which were wildly popular.
