Last Friday, we studied that falsehood can ruin our lives. The next passage of Proverbs is so dramatic and intense, that it has received the Hollywood treatment, being featured in a movie, a television series, and a four part mini-series.
These six things doth the lord hate; yea, seven are an abomination unto him.
abomination = a person or thing that is disgusting; an action that is vicious, vile, etc.; intense loathing
Sin is a very, very, serious offense against God.

All sin is wicked in God’s sight. Humans tend to “categorize” sin by making relative comparisons. In man’s eyes, lying is not as serious of a sin as murder is – but this famous Proverb proves that lying is an abomination to The LORD. Even the “smallest” sin will keep a person out of heaven. That means, even our “little white lies,” and gossiping had to be placed on Jesus Christ at Calvary. We all need to embrace God’s perspective of sin, and completely eliminate man’s perspective.
God treats all sin very seriously.
