This soup will cure what ails you!
In large Dutch oven or crockpot:
Tomato products, whatever you have. You need a good amount for the anti-oxidents. In this batch I used a commercial sized can of diced tomatoes.
Meat of any kind. Use what you have. Leftovers, rotosserie chicken, even Spam will add a lot to this soup. I used smoked sausage in this batch, because that is what I had.
Legumes. Canned beans are fine, one – two cans. In this batch I used a cup of dried lentils. They are awesome because they don’t need soaking and cook to tenderness in about an hour. Nice for when there is sickness and you need soup fast.
Grain: rice, pasta, etc. I use barley because it holds up and is good for stabilizing blood sugar. For barley, 1/2 cup will fill out a huge pot of soup.
Here is the power:
1 chopped onion, or equal amount dried or powdered
1 heaping tablespoon minced garlic, or equal amount powdered
1 heaping tablespoon chili powder
1 heaping tablespoon ground cumin
1 heaping tablespoon ground tumeric
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1 tablespoon honey, to balance acidity of tomatoes
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons sea salt
3/4 teaspoon black pepper
Bullion, or broth + boiling water to fill the pot
In Dutch oven, heat everything to boiling, then cover, reduce to simmer, for 45 minutes to one hour.
Taste and adjust seasonings. Add Mrs. Dash now if you want.
For crockpot, cook on high for 4-6 hours, or high for 6 – 10 hours.

Happy homemaking!
