Isaiah 25:1-4 KJV [1] O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. [2] For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. [3] Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. [4] For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

John 11:49-52

The LORD uses a man that hates Him, to prophecy about Him. Think about that! 

John 11:49-52 KJV [49] And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all, [50] nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. [51] And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; [52] and not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Throughout history, the Lord has used unlikely characters to accomplish His will. It should delight and surprise us all.

As I was picking out these towels, “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling,” was playing softly overhead. Could there be anything more wonderful while we wander in this wilderness of sin? 

As we labor in the fields, let us be thankful for these oasis in the desert. There are not many, and they are few and far between; so let us be so thankful to our merciful Saviour for such peace to be had in these dark days.
