Many churchgoers smugly place their tithes and offerings in the basket every week. This kind of self-complacency is a deeply embedded sin residing in the hearts of all mankind. It started in the Garden.
When we give of our treasure, our real treasure, our substance, that is true giving. It can be, but is not always, money. We all are given various talents, which we usually keep to ourselves. Colossians 3:14 tells us to put on charity, the bond of perfection. Selfless giving of our treasure, our substance, ourselves.

These are absolutely the best chocolate crinkles you will ever try!
1/2 cup regular olive oil + 2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons melted butter
12 tablespoons cocoa powder (I use Hershey)
2 room temp. eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup powdered sugar
Mix oil, butter, & cocoa powder. Blend in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Mix well.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into oil mixture.
Place the mixing bowl into a larger bowl filled half way with ice.

Let the dough chill for half an hour like this. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Get a smaller bowl, and put the powdered sugar in it. Prepare baking sheets with parchment paper. Remember, insulated cooky sheets topped with parchment produce superior cooky bottoms!
Using two spoons, drop dollops of dough into the powdered suger, then roll into balls and place on prepared sheet. I estimate a level tablespoon of dough is ideal. This dough, for me, is too soft for a scooper.

Your sheet should look like this. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes. Be careful, because chocolate baked goods do not show their browned edges. I always check the cracks on these cookies. If they look at all wet in the crack, they are not done. When done, the exposed cracks will look dry with a slight sheen.
Remove from oven to cooling rack. Cool on the sheet for four minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!

Think of all the beautiful females out there in social media, the music industry, movies, and television. For all their allure and bodily decorations, our all wise Father compares them to swine!

Be very wary of any preacher, teacher, ministry, or pundit, that speaks or acts against Israel. In our frail human judgment and perspective, we cannot possibly see God’s over-arching plan and vision. Only He can see the beginning from the end. We must rightly divide the Word of Truth, and realize that God is not done with Israel. Not by a long shot.

I prefer this carol done by a large choir, but this is a Bible instrument and very beautifully done.
Gleaned from my Bible study today, this passage, wherein Saul takes on the wicked Bar-Jesus. It struck me that every single time, every single time, we attempt to lead someone to Christ, the Adversary will do everything in his power to prevent it.

Notice Saul does not avoid combat with the forces of darkness. He confronts it head on. If we were to boldly do what Saul did – imagine what would happen. The devils would cower in fear.
Just a few weeks ago, my husband and I were going to look at house we were interested in. The whole thing was strange and Holy Spirit driven, but I digress. As we were sitting at a red light, waiting to turn, my husband, looking straight ahead, said “If they aren’t Christians I’m not putting in an offer on that house.” I said “Really?” And he said yes.
This particular kind of strength comes only from The Holy Ghost. As it did for Saul, and does for anyone who chooses to stand up for our Lord Jesus Christ. Even ladies at the quilting bee need to have this kind of fortitude. Enough of tepid Christianity!
More on the house saga later…
