Friday Scripture Study

This epistle causes a lot of friction among the brethren. All I can say is divide, divide, divide. James is addressed to the believing tribes of Israel, scattered abroad. We may still glean in this field.

Laying aside filthiness, and putting on meekness, is NOT A WORK!  Not a work in the sense of earning salvation. It is the sanctification that should happen in every believer. We become more like Him, and less like ourselves. That is not a work, it is surrender….  more later.

Monday Musings

I often wonder how people can be oblivious to the work of the Creator. It is so obvious,  the first chapter of Romans rubs our noses in it!  Daily, some discovery is made in the sciences, that verify the Word of God. Yet they will not believe.

This is due to the fact that God has given them over. If we think about that, it helps us be at peace with the hard hearted. And at the same time, we must accept when He uses a sledge hammer on those hard hearts!

Saturday Scripture

Look at this passage carefully!  All our Joel’s Army & Kingdom Now brethren should take note!  This world is not our home, we are STRANGERS AND PILGRIMS, and nothing can change prophecy. Though this passage states that our merciful LORD does not act without compassion, it does say that we are…

prisoners of the earth…

Deep things of God, beloveds. Deep love, deep compassion, and very deep wisdom.

Thursday Thoughts

Many churchgoers smugly place their tithes and offerings in the basket every week. This kind of self-complacency is a deeply embedded sin residing in the hearts of all mankind. It started in the Garden.

When we give of our treasure, our real treasure, our substance, that is true giving. It can be, but is not always, money. We all are given various talents, which we usually keep to ourselves.  Colossians 3:14 tells us to put on charity, the bond of perfection. Selfless giving of our treasure, our substance, ourselves.

Monday Musings

Oh Christian, what are we striving for?  Are we running the race for success?  Big numbers in the head count on Sunday morning?  Huge social media following?  If our pet chairity has a soup kitchen and free  clothing shop, are we then satisfied?

No matter how much we give, if the recipient is “outside” we have given nothing. If the church on Sunday morning is packed with bright and shining faces, but those faces leave doomed, what good then, does the head count do?  Numbers in giving, numbers in anything is akin to David numbering the Lord’s Army. And not a small amount of pride goes along with it.

Monday musings

Always bear in mind, that if you are truly born again, that this world is not your home, and that your body is now the Temple. Church buildings are not more holy. They are just buildings. You, yourself, are His Holy Temple. Think about that!

Thursday Thoughts

Isaiah 43:18-19 KJV [18] Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. [19] Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Monday Musings

Do you fully grasp the doctrine of “son-ship?”

The “we are all God’s children” bunch fail to understand this important fact. Only true sons, born again under the Blood of Christ, qualify for the son title. When the Holy Spirit speaks through Solomon here, He addressing us.

The mystery of our relationship with the Godhead will never be understood by those who are without. The LORD uses family relationships to help us understand the deep things of God. The Truth really can set us free.
